I’m Rahat Babar. After a long stint in public service in New Jersey, including as a judge on the Superior Court, I now lead policy for a national non-profit in Washington, DC, and serve as its chief legal officer. Though my job has me focused nationally, my New Jersey home is never far behind.

I wish to offer something different. You can find news, analysis, and endless streams of commentary on law and politics anywhere. My take on current events, however, will often have a distinctive New Jersey hook. For those raised or now live in New Jersey, or for those simply looking for a fresh take, I hope to share helpful perspectives to understanding the world around us.
